Duties and key responsibilities:

• Ensure that the Construction Department Standard Procedures are adopted where appropriate;
• Establish and chair weekly site co-ordination and progress meetings;
• Participate in Departmental Procurement, in line with the Construction Department’s Standard Procedures;
• Participate in Departmental Risk Reviews, proposing mitigation strategies where appropriate;
• Review ongoing design and advise any amendments in terms of completeness of drawings and specifications, buildability, cost effectiveness or local availability of materials or skills;
• Develop and maintain a Master Programme showing all design, procurement and construction activities;
• Manage individual contractors in terms of time performance. Ensure Contractors produce and maintain detailed Programmes in sufficient detail and that these are incorporated in the Master Programme;
• Ensure Contractors produce detailed procurement schedules and track actual procurement status against planned;
• Manage the individual contractors to prepare and timely issue on a weekly basis rolling 3 week look ahead schedules. Manage the integration of all three week look ahead schedules from each contractor;
• Identify and implement corrective action in the event that progress has, or is likely to, fall behind agreed schedules;
• Regularly report on project progress to the Project Manager in line with Departmental requirements and provide early warnings of any risks – especially in relation to the achievement of Milestone Dates;
• Together with the Contractor, define which works require Contractor Method Statements. Manage the Contractor to produce Method Statements prior to commencement of works. Together with the Quality Manager, review Method Statements for completeness and advise the contractor of any alterations required;
• Together with the Quality Manager and Design Manager, manage the approval process for all samples, submittals;
• Assist the Quality Manager in the handover and commissioning stages.

Qualifications:

• University degree: Architectural / Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering background

Required Skills and Experience:

• International experience of high quality buildings;
• Team Player;
• Knowledge of English
